Business acquisitions are intensely competitive whether you are large or small, and BH is not interested in competing on the basis of lowest price nor Brokers looking to unload a business in the manner in which a real estate broker sells distressed property.
Fun Fact! Business Brokers take the same courses as Real Estate Brokers (we know this because BH leadership has over 20 years combined licensed real estate and investor experience). However, one cannot sell a business or acquire a business in the same manner as distressed real estate. As such, less than 10% of businesses listed with Business Brokers sell. We are looking for businesses and to work with Brokers that understand the difference and are able to focus on the goal of selling the business as opposed to high commissions.
BH can be creative and structure almost any purchase into a win win scenario. However, BH wants to work with businesses that have a track record of satisfied customers. This will typically be indicated by organic sales growth, little to no spending on sales & marketing, and relatively high margins.
The more specific a niche, the more excited we are. The longer you have built your brand and/or reputation, the stronger base we will have to work from.
Business Owners
If you are the owner of a business in any sector with at least $500,000 in revenue, 50% gross margins and 20% or greater operating margins, and you believe you meet these criteria or you are a Start-Up looking for Angel funding, we are interested in learning more about what you have built. BH is open to working with your management team to acquire and transition the asset and are comfortable with complex situations.
Ideally, BH consults with and invests in Business Owners. The reason for the sale does not matter. Babyboomers are retiring from their businesses at record rates. BH empathizes for this fact by ensuring to transition their businesses utilizing strategy best practices in preserving Babyboomer legacies. BH also has interest in Real Estate Property Owners needing to sell Commercial/ Residential/Multifamily Apartments, Note Holders of Mortgage, Seller Finance, Auto note and Contract Holders with equitable interest (Sport Agent contracts, entertainment contracts, etc).
